She announced in November she’s expecting her second child with her husband Tom Mairs, just seven months after they welcomed a baby girl named Molly.
And Sam Quek, 33, shared ultrasound snap of her unborn baby and joked he was swearing at her on Instagram on Wednesday.
The Question of Sport panellist is 17 weeks pregnant.
She told OK! Magazine that the new baby is due just two weeks after her daughter turns one on March 2.
Speaking of the news, the sports star told the publication that the couple were hoping to have a small age gap between their children, but didn’t expect to fall pregnant again quite so quickly.
“It was a surprise but we didn’t stop it happening, if that makes sense.
“We did discuss after Molly that we’d like kids close together and what close together meant.
“My close together was 18 months and I wanted to start trying after Christmas.
“But Tom’s close together was to start trying after my six-week check!”
The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, made an early start in trying for another baby as they thought it may take a while to fall pregnant following an earlier miscarriage.
At the start of 2020, Sam miscarried a baby at 10 weeks.
The TV star previously said she felt “guilt and shame” following the heartbreaking loss and did not want to speak to anyone about it.
Thankfully, five and a half months later, she fell pregnant with her “dream baby”.
Sharing the funny snap with her Instagram followers, the hockey player said ‘Something tells me this little one is going to be trouble.’
The sports stars celeb friends and followers enjoyed the humorous scan and many left laughing emojis underneath the post.
Sports broadcaster Orla Chennaoui wrote: ‘Haha! Excellent!! Congratulations gorgeous girl!! ❤️’
While Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh said: ‘What a picture!!!!!!!!!!! 😂
It comes after Sam revealed last month she worried her ‘baby brain’ was hindering her performance on Question Of Sport as vile trolls on social media questioned her knowledge and told her to ‘get back in the kitchen’.
Speaking exclusively to the MailOnline, the sports star said of her performance on the show: ‘I put pressure on myself to make people realise that…I have the ability to get the same amount of answers as a male captain.’
Sam – who is the first female captain on Question Of Sport – revealed she became ‘disappointed’ in herself when she got questions wrong but that it was these slip ups that made her realise she could be pregnant.
She explained: ‘I said to Tom, “the last time I felt like this I was pregnant but it can’t have happened that quick”. He’d only got lucky about two or three times! And then Tom said, “Actually, towards the end of filming you were getting a few things mixed up”.
Sam often didn’t even realise what answer she had given: ‘My main brain was saying pole vaulter but my second brain was saying long jump and that’s what would come out of my mouth. That is literally baby brain,’ she said.
‘When I did the captain’s challenges, I knew that [was happening] and I used it as an excuse when Ugo [Monye] beat me,’ she laughed.
Sam previously suffered a devastating miscarriage at 10 weeks before she became pregnant with Molly and was shocked at how fast her current pregnancy happened.
She explained: ‘Molly took 18 months to conceive – or two years with a miscarriage inbetween. With this one we didn’t expect it to happen as quick to be honest but we’re completely blessed that it did and any pregnancy is just one of the best things ever.’
On whether she’s hoping for a girl or boy, Sam added: ‘As long as they’re healthy I could see myself with two daughters or a son and a daughter. I just think either way I’ll extremely happy because any baby is a blessing.’
