Even the most prolific Twitch streamers can’t beat Twitch’s long-arm user license agreement.
Felix “xQc” Lengyel is a popular Twitch streamer with thousands of viewers on average and more than 9 million subscribers on his Twitch channel. Although he is often considered Twitch royalty, xQc has been banned from Twitch five times. While some bans on xQc have been obvious, others are more mysterious. This was a list of every instance when He was banned on Twitch.
All about xQc’s Twitch bans
In July 2019, xQc was banned from Twitch for the first time. During a Just Chatting stream, xQc showed a video that contained pornography and had drawings overlayed on top. The footage was then viewed by fans who found inappropriate material and sent it to Twitch. The offence resulted in xQc being banned for 72 hours. Alinity, a fellow Twitch streamer, committed a similar offence. However, he was only given a warning.
xQc was banned for the second time in March 2020 after discovering that Strip Connect 4 was a highly-rated adult-rated video game. xQc quickly confirmed that he would remove a bra of digital characters when he was asked. This violates Twitch’s guidelines regarding sexual content. This is the most egregious act He has committed that could result in a ban. He had to opt-in for the game to allow him to have the nudity. He was still unbanned shortly afterwards.
The Canadian streamer’s third Twitch ban was the most hilarious. He uploaded a video of the Nintendo GameCube startup animation during a Just Chatting stream. The video then switched to footage showing two gorillas coopling at the end. Although it may seem odd for Twitch not to intervene at the last second, the 24-hour ban was intended as a slap on their wrist.
xQc’s fourth ban was one of his most controversial. After showing highlights from the Tokyo Olympics, the stream was suddenly shut down. He followed the recommended protocol to show the Olympic Games. This included muting the official audio. The ban was lifted less than 24 hours later. This sparked discussion in the streaming community about how Twitch protects its streamers. xQc even stated that he would pursue legal action against the copyright claim.
August 2021 was the most recent ban by xQc. The reason for the ban is still unknown, and He won’t share any details. Although it is still unclear what caused the ban, fan speculation suggests that it may be due to chat messages. xQc may have been advised not to speak out about his Olympics ban after he initiated legal action.
