Hampta Pass name has been derived from Hampta Village. Hampta Pass is at an altitude of 14,107 feet in the Himalayan Pin Panjal range. Between Lahaul and Kullu it is the passage. This region has rich flora and fauna but Lahaul valley is deserted and has barren lands.
How to reach
One needs to drive to Jobri via Prini and then a 2 days trek to reach Hampta Pass. Then for 1 day, either return to Jobri or go to Chatru. One can either reach Hampta Pass by bike or hire a taxi. The real excitement is there on a bike by moving through the sharp 40 curves.
