Alison Hammond left This Morning fans in fits of laughter over her latest blunder on the Wednesday 5 January’s ITV daytime show.
This Morning star Alison, 46, joined Dermot O’Leary to host the second episode of the ITV daytime show in 2022.
During the programme Alison and Dermot interviewed Dragon’s Den star Deborah Meaden via video link in her home – and swore twice during the interview.
During the This Morning episode, Alison Hammond asked the Dragons’ Den star how important it was for entrepreneurs on the BBC show to be personable and likeable.
Alison added: “Have you ever turned someone down because you just don’t like somebody?”
Deborah, replied: “It’s not a question of liking, I have to trust people and I don’t want to be in a business where I am constantly looking over my shoulder and thinking, ‘Do I know the truth?’
As Alison and 48 year old Dermot chatted to Deborah about the new Dragon Steven Bartlett, she asked the businesswoman: “Where are you Deborah, are you in a factory?”
To which Deborah smiled and paused as Alison said: “Oh, that’s your house isn’t it? I’m sorry!”
Alison let out a cheeky giggle while her co-host Dermot looked unimpressed as he folded his arms and frowned.
“‘It looked like… it was the colour,” Alison insisted as Dermot and Alison giggled.
And Deborah joined in on the laugh too, showing she wasn’t offended by the TV star’s slip up.
“It’s actually my office,” Deborah explained. “And the dogs have just started barking!”
Fans were left tickled by Alison’s mistake as one wrote on Twitter: “#ThisMorning Deborah Meaden has about 3 settees in her office. Alison Hammond now thinks she lives in the DFS factory.”
Another added: “oooops Alyson just putting her foot Foot right in a dragons mouth You are SO funny”.
Alison and Dermot have taken over hosting duties on This Morning for the first few days back after the Christmas break.
Some were delighted by the pair’s return to the This Morning sofa, but others were left questioning where the show’s main presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were.
One said: “phil and holly still on holiday when they coming back ! #ThisMorning”.
Another joked: “I work more than Phil and Holly – and I’m unemployed! #ThisMorning”.
A stunned Alison had to apologise to ITV viewers for Deborah’s colourful use of language live on air.
A visibly mortified Dermot added: “We apologise she said that word twice.”
An embarrassed Deborah, who then realised what word erupted out of her mouth twice, told the This Morning hosts: “I am so sorry, I shouldn’t have said that, I’m sorry.
“What I am saying is I don’t like people who aren’t truthful, it turns me off immediately.”
While a third asked: “How come Holly & Phil are having an extra week off when schools are back and people are back at work #thismorning”.
Dermot and Alison appeared to address viewers’ questions at the start of Tuesday’s show as they opened the programme by dancing to Eminem’s track Without Me.
Alison then said: “Yes we are back,” Alison told viewers as the music began to quieten down.
“I mean it’s a day late,” Dermot protested. “We were here yesterday, why didn’t they play this yesterday?”
“I know, I know,” Alison agreed as Dermot then asked: “Are they surprised we’re back?”
